Another CT try

Mon ,02/11/2009

Well I am trying to be a CT for a new site I just found tonight (of course the deadline was tonight) at Log Your Memory.  There is this awesome book that has been designed for you to help keep track of what is going on in your life and the things you want to scrapbook about each and every day, along with other challenges and things to get you thinking throughout it.   I really, really want a copy.  And the idea of CT’ing for that seems like it would be really good for me to do to remember the little things that God does for me every day.  So I entered my application, we will see what happens.

As a part of that I’m posting a few links that I couldn’t link any other way because it seems that this  has been the weekend for sites going down.

  • Pretty Scrappy’s store has gone down but they are in the process of coming back up now.  (I’ve linked you to the blog here).  As soon as they are up, I have a new kit for you from Sweet Tomato Designs to tell you about.  I will post about that kit in the next day or two.
  • Stone Accent Studios is where I first started this digital odyssey and since their gallery is down, here is what I created as a part of their Site Makeover contest back in May 2009.

Here is what I submitted to there.  We had to design a header, footer and 5 buttons using at set of digital tools we were given.  Sorry there is no preview that I have for it.

So the header…

The buttons…

and the footer…

So hopefully when you are looking at this you see the pictures lining up right!  :>)

So enjoy and I’ll be back soon with the new kit from Sweet Tomato Designs!

“Perfect Pumpkins”

Fri ,16/10/2009

Isn’t this just the time that makes you want to go walk in a pumpkin patch looking for just the right one to take home with you?  Well we haven’t done it yet with our kids, we might yet but this week has been extremely busy and a little bit taxing.  (Next week isn’t looking much different either.)  But I know that we will make it through it.

NS_PPP_STS_PreviewAnyways, are you looking for a perfect kit for those pumpking outings?  I saw one by Nibbles and Skribbles and by letting you know about it I have a chance to win it thanks to Stuff to Scrap.

So go on over and take a look at it in her store here.

I hope I win, an unemployed girl has gotta take the chance for the things that she can’t afford to buy.  :>)

With Blessings,

didn't make it

You’ve probably guessed by now, I didn’t make it into the third round of the contest.  Oh well.  It was fun to do, and life has gotten a bit crazy so it is pr0bably for the best.  The next kit would have been fun to play with but God has other plans.

Round 2 Entry – Curled and Sassy

GDS supreme week 2 sm

Well I got my entry done for the GoDigitalScrapbooking Supreme Contest Round 2.

I’m not sure it is as strong as my entry for round 1.  (I really liked how I did the net-journalling there.)  But I think my creativity in creating the flower frame will win some points.  It is really a half flower duplicated a bunch, and put around the circle frame and then all clipping masked and all to get the picture to fit just right.

Remember you can buy this Christy’s kit here….  Thanks Christy for giving us all such fun elements to work with.

Oh and I found the quote on Scrapbook.com in the Resources section.  I didn’t even know this section existed (I always get hung up in the store :>) ) so it was a great find and I wanted to share it with you too!

We will find out Tuesday night who makes it to Round 3.  Now it is all in God’s hands…  :

Have a great night, I’m off to bed! :>)

trying to win…

Thu ,10/09/2009

Okay so I don’t normally forward emails and all that jazz but since this is going on my blog that is a little different.  I received an email from TodaysMama with this giveaway entry and if I could actually win the Cricut or Cricut cartridges for entering that is cool.  The travel would be really nice right now as we gave up a family vacation due to all the “fun” caused by the economy this year.  So here are my answers for the contest…

This is a contest entry for those crazy folks at TodaysMama and Cricut. Be sure to check out Cricut’s cool new cartridges and the chance at $30,000 in travel for you and your friends at the Great Gypsy Escape site!

Great Escape Meme
1. If you could escape to anywhere in the world where would it be?  A beachfront room in Maine.  Where I can walk out my door onto the beach to walk anytime I want, and could hear the ocean waves rolling in all night.

2. What song do you play when you are by yourself in the car?  That depends on the day but lately it is Jaci Velasquez’s cd Crystal Clear and I find myself blaring “Escuchame” (Listen to Me).

3. If you had a night to yourself, and money was no object, what would you do?  Right now, travel to a spa night (there is nothing where I live) giving me a massage, and all that relaxing treatment.

4. What is your guilty pleasure?  Chocolate.

5. What is the farthest place you have traveled away from your home?  San Diego, CA

6. Last book that you couldn’t put down?  Nora Roberts, Visions in White.  I love her books, it is a great escape for me and I can’t wait for her next one to come out in this series in December.

7. When you want to escape into another time, what movie do you watch?  I haven’t watched a movie in so long… But it is a tie between Sabrina (1954 one with Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn) or Chocoalt (with Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche.

8. What is your favorite local escape?  My bathroom at the moment, it is where I can get a few minutes away from the “mommy, mommy”.  There isn’t really someplace I really go outside the house.

9. How do you escape on a budget?  Going to the beach a lot this summer at the river.

10.  Best food you’ve ever had while on vacation.  Lobster Roll!  There is nothing like a fresh Maine lobster roll.

Well I know I won’t win anything but hey it was fun!  Hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me.

Who Am I layout

faithis-whoami

Here is my Who Am I layout for the GoDigitalScrapbooking supreme contest.

I had such a hard time deciding what to do with this pretty kit.

I have a Faith Is book by Pamela Reeve,  that I picked up at our last American Baptist Women’s Ministries Convention in April.  I sat down, opened it up and the ideas started flowing.  I have 5 more layouts planned from phrases in the book!

I am grateful for the chance to enter the contest.  And even if I don’t make it to the second round, I think God is trying to help me to remember to trust him every day which I need that kick sometimes.

To download the kit yourself go to GoDigitalScrapbooking.com for Carena’s Powder Blue kit.

Trying to be Supreme…

Powder-Blue-Kit

GoDigitalScrapbooking.com is currently in the midst of a Supreme Team Contest.  I entered and we will see what God has in store.  This is the kit I will be basing a layout off of, it is absolutely beautiful and made by Carena’s Designs.

I have seen a lot of different places issuing CT (Creative Team) calls as well.  Strawberry Designs, Stuff to Scrap, and I’m can’t recall how many others I found during my first blog train visit.  Choo…Choo!

A part of me really wants to apply. But there is the cautious part of me trying not to overextend myself especially in this time of uncertainty.

I know God is there working out all the details.  You know being the behind the scenes caretaker of all the details you usually don’t want to see or care to think about on a second by second, minute by minute or day by day basis.

Of course there are times that things feel so out of control that you just want to take control of any piece that you can.  That’s when I want to see those details, to know things are still moving forward.

I’m praying that as I feel moved to work with the scrapbooking side of me, something will come out of this.  Perhaps it will be just an understanding of the blessings I have right now.  Perhaps it will be a way to support my family through something I love.  Perhaps I won’t understand for many years to come.

We will see.  As soon as I post my layout on GoDigitalScrapbooking.com, I’ll post it here for you to see as well!

With Blessings,  Becky
